(1) Come to the Current River ballpark on Sunday, June 29, between 9:00 am - 5:00 pm to pick it up. Bring your ticket! (Preferred method)

(2) Email tbaygsa@gmail.com or call/text (807) 708-5421 to arrange an alternative pickup. Keep your ticket!

Parking Update:

Do not park on both sides of Dewe Street, as it blocks the road and access to the Current River Community Centre. Traffic, including emergency vehicles, must be able to get through. Additional parking is available at the arena lot off Grenville Ave. 

 

Update May 2

  • Registration for the 2025 softball season is full for all divisions, except the Bantam Ladies division. We are still accepting registrations. 
  • We are accepting players on the Minor Major and Pee Wee waitlists. There is often movement on the waitlist, so we recommend emailing our registrar to add your name. As soon as a pot becomes available, we will notify you to register and make the payment. Email: tbgsaregistrar@gmail.com.
  • Teams have been selected and players should hear from their coaches between May 2 - May 9, 2025. If you do not receive information from your coach, please email tbaygsa@gamil.com. (Check your junk folder first!)

Schedules & Practices

  • Practices begin May 9, provided the diamonds are dry and groomed. 
  • The season starts Monday, May 19.
  • The tournament runs June 23-29, 2025

Parent & Specatator Information

  • Unsportsmanlike conduct towards any player, coach, team, or umpire will not be tolerated at games or practices. Failure to conduct yourself in a respectful manner will result in being removed from he ballpark. 
  • New rule! There is no sitting directly behind home plate or by the dugouts. Spectators must view the game from the sides. 
  • New rule! Only coaches on the coaching roster and players are allowed in the dugout and field. Parents, friends, and spectators are not allowed in the dugouts or fields.

2025 CRRA-TBGSA Recreation Softball League 

Welcome to the CRRA - TBGSA softball league! We can’t wait for the season to start and look forward to meeting all new and returning players this year.

Please read through the website information and the 2025 Information Package before registering.

Because space is limited, please ensure your player is committed to playing the full season before registering. 

The season begins mid-May and will wrap up with our Championship Tournament on June 27 - 29, 2025.   

Registration 

  • Download our 2025 Information Package.

  • Register online using our new online registration form. Now open!

  • Registration closes April 12, 2025.

  • Registration is complete once we receive both the completed registration form AND your payment.  You will receive an email from the league confirming your spot.

  • In-person registration will take place at the Current River Community Centre

  •     Wednesday, March 19 and April 2 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm
  •     Saturday, April 5th and 12th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm

Payment Information

  • Registration Fee is $140 per player and includes membership to CRRA.

  • All payments go to the Current River Rec Centre. Pay by cash, cheque or e-transfer (community@currentrivercom.com). 

  • E-Transfers: Include your player’s exactly as written in the registration form in the comment section of your e-transfer. Include both the first and last name of the player(s).

  • E-Transfers require a password; we suggest using softball. 

  • Refunds:  Withdrawing from playing in the league must be completed by April 28 to receive a full refund. We will not refund players after this date. All cheques can be made out to CRRA or Current River Recreation Association. 

  • Registration is complete once we receive both the completed registration form AND your payment.  You will receive an email from the league confirming your spot.

Call for Volunteers, Coaches, & Umpires!

Volunteers are needed this season to coach, umpire, and join our executive team. 

  • Volunteer: Volunteer or join our executive team to help manage our league. 

  • Umpires: Be an umpire! Every year, the league struggles to get enough umpires, and we hope you will consider being an umpire this season. Umpires are paid per game. For more information, please email: tbgsaumpire@gmail.com 

  • Coaches: Interested in coaching? Fill out the form below. Only coaches on our coaching roster will be allowed in the dugout this season.

Important Information & Dates

EVALUATIONS: In order to create teams that are fair in skill level and development, the league will hold its pre-season evaluations in late April. Evaluations are scheduled for Sunday, April 27, 2025, at The Hangar, Lakehead Univeristy.

Minor/Major division @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
PeeWee division @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Bantam/Ladies division @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm


EQUIPMENT: Please review the Information Package for specific information regarding the use of personal bats, attire, and equipment needs. 


RESPECTFUL CODE OF CONDUCT: All players, coaches, parents, and spectators are reminded to abide by the Respect In Sport policy. Abusive, derogatory, or harassing language or behaviour will not be tolerated at any time. Failure to demonstrate respect and kindness to others will result in removal from the game and/or park. The incident will be brought to the executive to determine whether or not the player, coach, spectator or parent will be removed from the league. This rule also applies to the treatment of umpires. 

  • Be kind. Be respectful. Be supportive. Be positive. Be encouraging. Be a team player.

INCLEMENT WEATHER RULE: We will aim to play all games as scheduled, regardless of the weather. Decisions regarding inclement weather will not be made until closer to game time. Please be prepared to play in different weather conditions. 

  • In the event of inclement weather, both teams must show up at the field unless contacted ahead of time by the TBGSA. 
  • A team that fails to show up for a scheduled game without receiving notice of cancellation from the TBGSA will forfeit that game.
  • The suspension of a game underway due to inclement weather is the umpire’s decision.
  • If a game is called due to inclement weather, the game will be considered complete if 4 full innings have been played in PeeWee & Bantam/Ladies, and 3 full innings have been played in Minor/Major.
